ICT — it’s like a beefed up version of IT. Watch to learn more about information and communications technology, what it includes, and how it’s impacted our lives.
ICT is a huge umbrella term. Short for information and communications technology, ICT is sometimes used interchangeably with IT, or information technology. But, ICT is a lot more. ICT components include data, internet access, cloud computing, software, hardware, transactions, and communications technology. But more importantly, ICT involves the combination and application of those components.
Generally, ICT refers to all devices, networking component, applications, and systems that facilitate interaction with the digital world. It’s drastically changed how we work, communicate, and live — some call it the “Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
